Literacy Worksheets at Home

Last week my 3 and a half year old daughter wanted to learn to write her name. It’s funny because I really hadn’t thought about her using my site and worksheets yet, but it made my heart so happy! She is so excited about learning and since she just started at a little Montessori School in July she has been really interested in letters and writing her name. She now assigns herself “homework” and looks for a quiet place, away from little brother, that she can focus on it. Last week, when I came downstairs from tucking my son into bed, my husband was sitting at her little table with her and they were doing one of my worksheets. This is such a simple thing, but that little bit of attention and time together was a huge thing for her. It also reiterates the importance of our values on our children. When children see that their schoolwork and learning is important to their parents, they tend to value it more themselves. Taking just a few minutes to spend alone time with your children can make a big difference!
